nRF Toolbox for Bluetooth LE 3.3.1

The nRF Toolbox is an application designed to store Nordic Semiconductor apps for Bluetooth Low Energy in a consolidated location. Within this app, users can access a variety of applications that showcase different Bluetooth LE profiles, including:

• Running Speed and Cadence
• Heart Rate Monitor
• Blood Pressure Monitor
• Health Thermometer Monitor

Starting from version 1.10.0, the nRF Toolbox now also supports the Nordic UART Service, enabling bidirectional text communication between devices. With the addition of Android Wear support for the UART profile in version 1.16.0, users can create configurable remote controls with a UART interface through the user-friendly interface.

One of the standout features of this app is the Device Firmware Update (DFU) profile, allowing users to wirelessly upload applications, bootloaders, and/or Soft Device images over-the-air. This functionality is specifically compatible with Nordic Semiconductor nRF5 devices.

The DFU profile boasts several key features:

• Scanning for devices in DFU mode
• Connecting to devices in DFU mode to upload selected firmware components
• Enabling HEX or BIN file uploads directly from your phone or tablet
• Supporting one-step updating of soft device and bootloader from a ZIP file
• Providing options to pause, resume, and cancel file uploads
• Including pre-installed examples of Bluetooth Low Energy services such as heart rate monitoring and running speed and cadence services
